Wasagaming Community Arts proudly celebrates “55 Years of Colour, Creativity and Community” in 2025, and we’re ready to make this anniversary unforgettable! For over half a century, we’ve been at the heart of creativity in Riding Mountain National Park — a place where artists, locals, and visitors come together to celebrate art and inspiration. To mark this milestone, we’re planning a summer full of exciting events, and we want YOU to be part of it!
For the fourth show of the 2025 season -- from August 15 - September 13, 2025 -- we're looking for artists who have a special connection with Wasagaming Community Arts, the Deep Artist Residency, or Clear Lake. Selected artists will exhibit in the final exhibition of the season, a special tribute to five decades of creative expression and our community’s artistic legacy. The artists will be selected through a juried panel process -- with the applications being reviewed by a WCA Board Committee.
In addition to this special exhibition, WCA has a range of exciting events and opportunities planned. We will also host three general exhibition slots (May to August 2025), a Tribute Exhibition honoring our founders, Edythe Holden and Joyce Smedegaard, and our inaugural Fall Artist Retreat, tentatively scheduled for the first week of September 2025. Artists are welcome to apply for both the general exhibition slots (May to August) and this special exhibition; however, if selected, they will be chosen for only one exhibition.
If you’re interested in applying for this special exhibition, please fill out the application form below. We look forward to hearing about your connection to Wasagaming and collaborating with you next summer.
Deadline: December 15, 2024.
Decision Timeline: The WCA Committee will endeavour to meet and review all applications received in December 2023, and will be reaching out to artists and collectives with their decision in January 2024.
