On Canada Day, we are excited to welcome Irene Patterson to the front lawn of the WCA for a Canada Day Pop Up!
Irene is a western Canadian artist who expresses her love and respect for both nature and her country by painting scenes on natural leaves. In more involved pieces, painted natural leaves are incorporated into larger scenes. The medium Irene uses is acrylic. She began focusing on "leaf art" in 1996 using a self-developed technique. Her work has a distinct quality that is appealing in its unusual format.
We will also be offering kid's activities between 10 am-4 pm, such as face painting and a gallery scavenger hunt with prizes! We also give kids the opportunity to build their own Canada Day wands and beaver puppets so be sure to stop by! The activities we offer are for all ages and are free of charge!
